Winterton Parish Council Minutes
21 October 2004
At the Parish Council meeting on the 21 October 2004 residents had the opportunity to meet Doctors Newstead, Taylor, Gibson from the Hemsby practice and the Practice Manager of Coastal Villages Mr Chris Thompson. The meeting was very well attended by residents. Dr Newstead explained to everyone present the reason for the sudden change in the way appointments were dealt with. The residents then asked various questions which were answered by the Doctors and who also said they would investigate the complaints made. If the Doctors and Parish Council agree a group from each will meet on a regular basis in the future to discuss any problems. The residents appreciated this.
Following this Police Sergeant Caroline Adams from Caister introduced herself and outlined her background as she has only just joined us here. Caroline was concerned that Winterton is having a serious problem with vandals in the village but stated they need everything reported so that they can take action. Sgt Adams has an open invitation to attend future Parish Council meetings.
Various items were discussed included the loss of the Coast Watch station. Coastal Erosion will be sending out a newsletter in the very near future to everyone in the village. A meeting has been held to discuss the changing room project and a cheque for £1000 has been received from GYBC to help with this. An Action Group is to be formed to follow through the actions from the Parish Plan.
