Winterton Parish Council Minutes

18 November 2004

At the Parish Council meeting on the 18 November, 28 residents were welcomed to the meeting by Chairman Neve. Various items were discussed which included the following:-

Planning Application to build 6 executive houses in Bulmer Lane
The Parish Council refused the application and comments will be sent to Great Yarmouth Borough Council.

North Market Road Parking
Following a meeting held previously Cllr Neve will be following up the suggestions put forward to try and stop the non- residential parking - he will update everyone at the meeting in December.

Wheelie Bins
County Councillor Jim Shrimplin sent an email reporting that they will be issued to the residents in the New Year

Paper Bank
This will be left where it is for the present time. It was also noted that there is a bottle bank at Hermanus for the use of residents.

Coast Watch
It was reported that two ex MOD units have been purchased; these will shortly be located close to the beach and the target for fund raising of £5,000 has been reached.

Village Directory
In the process of being printed and will be distributed to all households in the village.

Dog Fouling
It was agreed by the Parish Council that signs together with an advertising campaign, which will include the local press, is started in an effort to control this problem in the village, dunes and beach.

Parish Plan Action Group
An initial meeting to discuss the outcomes of the Parish Plan has taken place and a report given at the meeting by Cllr Barlow. The Terms of Reference were agreed by all Councillors.

Coastal Villages Practice
Quarterly meetings to be arranged with the Practice and Cllrs Barlow and Jones will represent the Parish Council.

Project Steering Group
The Clerk has been approached by the Probation Service offering free supervised labour (subject to an assessment) to help build the new changing rooms on the playing field. Leaflets have also been received "Awards for all England" giving details of funding that can be applied for. Next meeting early in the New Year.
