Lynn's e mail prompted me to write. As a regular dog walker at Winterton. I have more reason than most to be grateful. On Easter Sunday I was lost deep in the dunes in a blizzard, could not see my hand in front of my face, and lost all landmarks and sense of direction. I was in a bit of a panic, not knowing which direction to go. I had the Coast Watch number [which I recommend] on my mobile, and a calm and reasoned voice talked me back to the safety of the car park. It all sounds a bit silly now, but it was a frightening experience just like being in a London fog. Winterton really is "a village to be proud" with people like that at the helm.

Came up to see Norwich vs Qpr 26/April/2008. (well done Norwich and the Ref). Stayed the weekend at Hemsby, however, strolling up the beach early in the following morning and happening on Winterton-on-Sea was a great surprise. A lovely area and very friendly people. Will return next year for the re-match (come on you R,s).

I would like to thank all the staff at Coastwatch for their presence and dedication to their service. I am a round-the-year dog walker and its a peace of mind in being able to walk my dog in such beautiful surroundings whilst under the watchful eye of staff at Winterton Coastwatch. A big round of thanks also to the owners of the carpark for permitting Coastwatch to open and collect donations for carparking during the winter season - being able to park safely, having access to both assistance and services (toilets and a seasonal cafe) makes this a haven.

Do we have a graffitti problem growing in our wonderful village, and is any action being taken to cure this??? I have noticed the sign at empsons loke, bus shelter and posts and signs up beach road have been scrawled upon. I am pretty sure this is an ugly sight for visitors and tourists. Come on people we need to stop this!!! A village to be proud of???

I live in the village, with my young family and i think the childrens playarea, off Winmer Avenue needs updating. Compared to Hemsby, Martham and Caister, where was the £5000 spent!! The grass is ankle deep and the play equipment is out of date, compared to these other villages.

As the Winterton On Sea Mercury Co-respondent I become frustrated by individuals and groups failing to provide information of events or regular meetings and then complain when a lack of support is shown for their event. To advertise an event in the Village Life of the Mercury is free and requires merely the particulars communicated to me before Mondays each week.

Welcome to our "new" guestbook format.Toward the end of 2007 we were inundated with rubbish (spam) from the USA. We hope the problem has been addressed now and invite you to enter your comments as before. We do take note of your views.
