Winterton Youth Football Club

Chairman & Coach: John Burnett Tel: 01493 748683
Manager & Coach: Mark Rudrum
Secretary: Wendy Rudrum Tel: 01493 748259
Treasurer: Steve McKenzie

AIMS: Our aims are to offer a safe environment where the youngsters can enjoy participating in our national sport, improve their ability both individually AND collectively and provide opportunities to compete against other teams.

MEMBERS: Currently our Youth Football Club is an "under 11's" team ….. this is school year 6. We have 14 members at the moment, however we would welcome any new year 6 boys who would like to attend training to improve their skills and fitness whether they wish to play competitively or not. We would also like to hear from anyone interested in forming teams of other age groups, including girls, and we would be happy to offer any help, guidance and also share training equipment where we can. There are various rules laid down by the FA in respect of mixed age groups and sexes playing each other as well as the provision of adequate insurance in the event of accident.

We are now in our fourth season of competitive matches. The small number of children in any one school year has resulted in us looking outside of Winterton for members although, with one exception, they all do currently attend the West Flegg Middle School at Martham.
We compete in the North East Norfolk League.

The two older age groups are now based in Martham.

VENUE: We meet at the Winterton-on-Sea playing field on Somerton Road on Monday evenings for 2 hours training for which we charge a modest fee currently of £2.00.

COACHES: Mark and John became involved with the club 5 years ago in order to provide an opportunity for their sons and their friends to enjoy football and, at the same time, improve their skills. Both have attended NCFA approved training courses, which, whilst not compulsory, we would encourage any prospective team managers & coaches to undertake.

SUPPORT: We have a large parent, family & friends following, who support the boys both home and away.

SPONSORS: Our current sponsors are Charles Bycroft Estate Agents; and Loomes Stores bought us a set of mini soccer goals this year. We need to purchase some weatherproof jackets for the lads and we also need to improve the floodlighting on the training area and so, if you are a business who would like to sponsor our team, we would be glad to hear from you … help us and promote your business at the same time.
