Our aim is to provide opportunities for young people Male and Female, aged 11 to 18 years, to develop into responsible, dependable and useful members of society. To promote self discipline and comradeship. To teach the principles of leadership and help young people achieve their full physical and intellectual potential through the system of Military discipline, Royal Marine ethos and adventure training.
Our activities include: Military tactics, drill, field craft, adventure training, survival, route marching, map reading, weapon safety, first aid and many others. We plan and execute weekend training exercises and participate in a one week summer camp away from base.
We require our Cadets, with the support of their Parents or Guardian, to show commitment, maintain high standards, show respect for others and always give "Best Effort" to any given task.
In accordance with our Constitution the Unit is administered and managed by the Executive Committee who are elected to office at our annual general meeting. We are affiliated to: Youth Clubs Norfolk. The National Association of Young Persons Clubs. Norfolk Council for Voluntary Youth Services and are full members of the Federation of Independent Nautical Training Organisations.
Recent Press Coverage has included our participation in, and consequent winning of, The County Challenge Shield. Our Summer Camp at Coltishall. Our Visit to the Historic Warships on Merseyside and our involvement in the Remembrance Sunday Services at Winterton-on-Sea and Hemsby.
We are busy people. If you think you are tough enough, good enough and you like a challenge then come and "JOIN US".
